This online calculator will determine the moment, shear and stress diagrams for a general beam. Up to 24 beam segments can be used each with its own section properties. Translational and rotational springs can be used along with free, simple and fixed boundaries. Concentrated loads, moments, displacements and slopes can be applied.

L is the length of each segment, E the elastic modulus, I the area moment of Inertia, St and Sb are the top and bottom distances from the neutral axis for the bending stress calculations, P and M concentrated loads and moments, ∆ and θ deflections and rotations, ky and kθ vertical and rotation springs. Any consistent set of dimensional units can be used. Angles are in radians.

The calculator will automatically update after each cell change. There maybe a slight delay
